Cameo
I won't retrace the path that led me to the National Park Service website for Scotts Bluff National Monument, but I was looking at it remembering my visit a few years ago. Beside the heading Things To Do a picture of a woman in a bonnet standing by a chuck wagon explaining pioneer provisions jogged my memory of standing by the chuck wagon listening to a woman in a bonnet. And then I realized that's me in the picture and Scott, who I went with, was over there on the left side.
I mean, how crazy is that?

Ahhh! That's so excellent--and totally crazy.
Ha! That's amazing! But I kind of wish you HAD detailed the process that led you to back to the website.
I was reading a history of the National Park Service and was looking at maps of when parks were authorized. Nebraska has three national parks, one is Scotts Bluff National Monument, authorized between 1933 and 1951.
scredise
you're famous! good thing it's a good picture. that makes me think of my non-quaker friend who got immortalized on the austin quaker fellowship website because he happened to visit on a day someone had a camera out. there he is, looking like a Pillar of the Congregation.
by the way, did you realize that anyone was taking a picture?
We were there a long time ago, in 2006, I think. Which makes it hard for me to remember if there was anyone around with a camera. I seem to remember another tourist with a camera, but no one official. I think if I realized my picture was being taken by someone official I would have been smiling and trying too hard.
That being said, I have horrible posture.
just as a public service, may i point out that you're going through a rather dry spell posting-wise?
clessabl!
