MMR

I got one more MMR vaccine and tetanus booster so I could enroll in classes. It was something I had been putting off mostly out of fear. When I showed Leah the bandaids she said I looked like a real badass.

To make me even more badass, the shirt I'm wearing in the picture is an ACDC t-shirt..."For those about to rock!..."

I Make Enemies Much Faster Then I Do Friends

Today, for studio we had to write a paper on three keywords. They were:: dance/Darfur/design, taken in that order.

My friend Matt was sitting beside me and when the professor asked him to talk about what he had written about regarding design, Matt asked if he could just read what he wrote. The professor said it was fine unless anyone objected. As a joke one guy said he did object. That's when I volunteered to read it out loud for Matt. By the time I actually got to read it out loud there were two rules I had to read it with. The first was that I had to shout the word design every time I came to it. The second was that I had to read, the, like ttttthhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeee. Halfway through what was becoming a spectacle, I turned to Matt and said, "I'm so sorry." He said he forgave me, but there's always the doubt that he didn't.

High-Kicks and the Dance Party Next Door

If I were to ever gather up the courage to knock on my neighbors' door, there would be two things I would ask them to never do again. One would be to TURN DOWN the dance club music at 4:00 a.m. and the second thing would be to never again light a cigarette. I don't really know what kind of cigarettes they smoke, but I'm guessing that they're the cheapest ones that can legally be manufactured in the United States and as a result they smell awful. I'm going to cite these two reasons as why I'm not going to renew my lease here. That's all the revenge I've got.

I don't want to jump the gun, but I think this semester is going to be way better then the last one. I think I actually like all my classes and professors, though Monday is going to be tedious. My first class starts at 1:00 (no complaints here) and I then proceed to have three classes in the same room until 7:30. That's a long stretch to be in a windowless, cramped, basement seminar room. Part of that is a three hour studio where this semester we're going to be working with the dance department. The dance professor, in all seriousness, asked when our class could get together with him to work on our high-kicks, so it should be fun.

Heart Palpitations

It may come as some surprise, what with all the World Cup soccer I've been playing, but Leah and I are going to start jumping rope for exercise. You would think soccer would keep me in shape, especially with blow out games we've been playing this winter. The Republic of Ireland was the finalist we had to play for the championship and we beat them 14-0. Soccer does have a lot of running, but Leah and I were looking for a more robust workout and jumping rope is it.

Readings for this week include:

All I can find on flameless candles,

Several theories about dancing,

Everything about Darfur.

This semester is already starting off better then the last one.
