Reasons Why I Can't Write My Thesis Proposal
I don’t know what it’s going to be about.
I have things to read on the Internet.
I read Les Misérables.
My hair hurts.
It’s four weeks late.
I spend time thinking of ways to convince my honorary committee chairperson to sign-off on an unwritten document.

Not that I've read Les Miserables, but maybe you could get out of writing your proposal by stealing some candle sticks and getting thrown in the hoosegow.
Trust me, I've thought about it.
